Volunteer & Internship Opportunities
Doing good feels good. Consider giving your spirits a lift by volunteering with Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Across the state, we have opportunities to work alone or in small groups. Scheduling is flexible, and you can arrange your opportunity directly with a property. Unpaid internships for school credit are also available. Email DNRVolunteer@dnr.IN.gov to match your skills with a nearby property.
Here’s a list of some of the ways citizens work with DNR:
- Maintain trails
- Monitor birdhouses
- Remove invasive plants
- Clean up waterways
- Act as a Nature Center Attendant
- Share photography or artwork
- Assist with carpentry projects
- Act as campground hosts
- Assist with cemetery surveys, archaeological work, and history research
