Board of Licensure for Professional Geologists
The Board of Licensure for Professional Geologists is the Indiana agency responsible for the licensing and discipline of professional geologists. Originally established in 1996 as the Board of Certification for Professional Geologists, the Board received a change to its current name in 1999.
Statutes governing the authority and activities of the Board are set forth by statute at IC 25-17.6. Board rules are set forth in 305 IAC. Administrative review (more commonly called "appeals") of decisions by the Board are performed by Administrative Law Judges for the Natural Resources Commission. Most procedures set forth at 312 IAC 3-1 for the Natural Resources Commission also apply to appeals from actions by the Board.
The Indiana Geological Survey at Indiana University maintains the website for the Board of Licensure for Professional Geologists.
