Certificates of Completion: Date Standards
On October 20, 2016, the Indiana State Board of Nursing addressed a variety of issues related to nursing education in the state of Indiana. Among the topics discussed was the common practice of submitting Certificates of Completion for students in anticipation of future completion. While this practice has been accepted by the Indiana State Board of Nursing in the past, the Board determined that Certificates of Completion would no longer be valid prior to completion of all educational requirements. Therefore, the IPLA, on behalf of the Indiana State Board of Nursing, will not accept Certificates of Completion for students prior to the official achievement of all required components for graduation. Any future submissions in anticipation of completion will be returned with a reminder of the same.
Sincerely,
Joshua D Harrison
Director of the Indiana State Board of Nursing
