Registered Nurse Renewal FAQ's
Renewal Dates
Licensed practical nurse – expires 10/31/even numbered years
Registered nurse – expires 10/31/odd numbered years
Nurse midwife – expires 10/31/odd numbered years
Advanced practice nurse prescriptive authority – expires 10/31/odd numbered years
Controlled substance registration – expires 10/31/odd numbered years
A license that has been expired for less than 18 months may be renewed online. Please click here to be directed to the login page.
Licenses expired over 18 months will require a renewal form available here to begin the renewal process. The form would need to be printed, completed, and submitted with the $100 fee to be paid by check or money order to the "IPLA."
If your license has been expired more than 3 years you will need to submit a renewal form, $100.00 check or money order (Made out to IPLA) and a copy of an active license from another jurisdiction.
If you do not have an active license in another jurisdiction, you will receive a notice to come before the Board for a Personal Appearance.
