Indiana State Board of Health Facility Administrators

COVID-19 Actions:

Testing Limitations: The Indiana State Board of Health Facility Administrators has started facilitating HFA examinations with limited available spots to comply with social distancing requirements. These exams are offered on a first come, first served basis and are likely to fill quickly so a spot cannot be guaranteed in advance. If you sign up to attend an exam and are unable to make it for any reason, you must inform board staff immediately.

Modification of HFA Instruction Requirements: The requirements of 840 IAC 1-1-15 have been modified by the Board of Health Facility Administrators insofar as it requires an administrator in training or a student intern seeking licensure as an HFA or RCA to have completed a course of instruction and training that occurs in a license comprehensive care facility. 840 IAC 1-1-4 has not been amended and all conditions that an applicant is required to meet prior to their examination, such as education requirements or the number of educational hours required for the completion of the AIT (Administrator in Training) must still be met before an applicant may take their required exams. A copy of the order may be found HERE

PLA Remote Work: In response to COVID-19 and the impact it is having on the State of Indiana, the Professional Licensing Agency will have the majority of our staff working remotely in the coming weeks. While routine operations of the agency will continue, please note that there may be disruptions or delays in the processing of your requests. Please prioritize the usage of email to communicate with our staff whenever possible and scan any documents that need to be processed. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work best to protect our staff and serve Hoosiers in these ever-changing times.
