The purpose of this Request for Applications (RFA) is to fund competitive two-year grants for a health department, hospital, physician’s group, other healthcare related entity, or a nonprofit organization (as defined by the IRS Tax Determination) within the State of Indiana to fund nurse practitioners, advance practice nurses and/or nurse midwives to provide prenatal care in OB deserts.

REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS FOR NEWBORN SCREENING OF SEVERE COMBINED IMMUNODEFICIENCY (SCID) AND SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY (SMA)
Applicants for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency(SCID) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) must collaborate with and demonstrate a partnership with the Newborn Screening Laboratory Manager, Barb Lesko, in addition to the ISDH Genomics and Newborn Screening team. Applicants must assist in the development of follow-up methods including confirmatory testing and care coordination in compliance with ISDH Genomics and Newborn Screening program’s best practices to guarantee timely disease intervention and best efforts to ensure no child is lost to follow-up and is also provided with appropriate treatment and care.
